THE SPUD DRIVE-IN

The spud has been a local fixture in Driggs Idaho since it first opened its doors in 1953 as a “state of the art” drive-in theater. During the next 56 years not all that much changed, including the menu at the snack bar. That was until Poppa Presents realized its other potential, an outdoor music venue. Starting in 2009 with Darkstar Orchestra and Keller Williams it was transformed into a drive-in music venue. In 2010 it became a 4000 person outdoor venue with plenty of on-site camping with 3 shows – Widespread Panic, The Rhythm Devils and Big Head Todd and the Monsters.  The Spud is closing its business this summer 2011, Poppa Presents hopes to get a chance to re-live the magic created there again someday.
